제 4 장

As the tip of the Sun peeked above the horizon,
Fisher experienced a mystical vision.
He saw Asista rise and shine a ray of light upon him
as he hovered over the surface of the earth.
Then he saw other rays of Asista's light strike the ground below.
Everywhere the light touched,
a rare exotic plant with stunning flowers rose from the ground.
The variety of colors, shapes and sizes seemed inexhaustible,
and each flower more beautiful than the next.
태양의 끝이 수평선 위에 걸리자
'피셔'는 신비스러운 환상을 경험했습니다.
그가 대지의 표면을 빙빙 맴돌고 있을 때
'아시스타'가 떠올라 자신의 위로 한줄기 빛을 뿌리는 것을 본 것입니다.
그리고 나서 '아시스타'의 또 다른 빛이 낮은대지를 내려치는 것을 보았습니다.
그러자 그 빛이 만지는 곳마다 놀랄만큼 아름다운 꽃들을 가진
희귀하고 매혹적인 식물들이 땅으로부터 솟아 나왔습니다.
다양한 색깔들과 모양과 크기를 가진 그 꽃들은
이루 헤아릴 수가 없을 것 같았고
하나 하나의 꽃은 그 다음 꽃보다 더욱 아름다웠습니다.

Suddenly the appearance of the Sun, Asista himself, seemed altered.
He glowed in the shape of a huge, radiant rose.
Then the vision ended.
그러다가 '아시스타' 그 자체인 태양이 갑자기 나타나
자신의 모습을 바꾸는 것 같더니,
'아시스타'가 거대하고 눈부신 장미 모양으로 빛나는 것이었습니다.
그런 후에 환상은 끝났습니다.

Fisher looked upward toward Asista.
The lower rim of Asista's golden sphere had just risen over the horizon.
The vision, which seemed to last for hours, had barely lasted a few minutes.
'피셔'는 고개를 들고 아시스타를 바라보았습니다.
바로 그 순간 '아시스타'의 황금빛 구체의 아래쪽 테두리가 수평선 너머로 떠올랐습니다.
그 환상은 겨우 몇 분밖에 가지 않았지만
그에게는 근 한시간이나 이어진 것 같았습니다.

Fisher was overcome with joy. He cried out,
"Oh Asista, is this how you are?"
Asista responded with a gentle wind which whispered,
In the midst of the darkness, a giant heart-shaped Rosebud filled the sky.
As it slowly bloomed,
the brilliant light from its vivid red petals pierced the darkness.
The darkness tried to engulf it, but was dispersed by the light of the Rose
until it shrank back in defeat and disappeared completely.
피셔는 기쁨에 넘쳐 이렇게 외쳤습니다.
"오 '아시스타'여, 이것이정녕 당신의모습이란 말입니까?"
'아시스타'는 속삭이는듯한 부드러운 바람으로 응답하더니
어둠의 한 복판에서 엄청나게 큰 하트 모양을 한 장미꽃 봉오리가 나타나 하늘을 덮었습니다.
그리고 그 꽃봉오리가 서서히 펼쳐지자
그 선명한 붉은 꽃잎들로부터 나온 눈부신 빛이 어둠을 꿰뚫었습니다.
어둠이 그 꽃잎이 내는 빛을 집어삼키려 들었지만
역부족으로 오히려 어둠이 위축되어 오그라들더니
마침내 장미꽃이 내는 빛에 의해
산산이 흩어져서 완전히 사라져버리고 말았습니다.

The Rosebud was supported by a long, slender stem
which descended and was firmly planted into the earth below.
그 장미꽃 봉오리는
아래로 향한 길고 가느다란 줄기에 의해 지탱되고 있었는데,
그 줄기는 지상의 땅 속 깊은 곳에 단단히 뿌리를 내리고 있었습니다.

In the center of this heavenly flower were billions of tiny Butterflies.
They were actually life-size, but looked tiny in contrast to the huge Rose.
The fragrance and beauty of the Rose were beyond belief,
far superior to any earthly flower.
The sweetness of the nectar was so overpowering
that all of the Butterflies appeared to be intoxicated.
하늘의 꽃 중심부에는 수 십억 마리의 조그마한 나비들이 있었습니다.
그 나비들은 사실은 실제 크기였지만 거대한 장미와 대조를 이루니
아주 작아 보였던 것입니다.
장미의 향기와 아름다움은 그 어떤 지상의 꽃들보다 뛰어나서
상상을 초월하는 것이었습니다.
그리고 달콤한 꽃의 즙은 너무나 매력적이어서
모든 나비들이 그것에 도취되어 이끌려 나올 정도였습니다.

The large, luminous red Rose suddenly turned as golden as Asista.
It changed from a Rose into a glowing Butterfly.
As the final metamorphosis occurred,
the huge Golden Butterfly was transformed into the Monarch Butterfly, XT.
But the scales on his wings were different from those of other Butterflies.
Instead of ordinary scales, they were actually billions of tiny Butterflies.
The wings were composed of all the Butterflies that ever existed.
The huge Butterfly appeared to be on fire in the brilliance of Asista's light.
Shining whites, dazzling oranges, stunning yellows and glowing blacks
flashed in the sky with an overwhelming brilliance.
크고, 빛나던 빨간 장미가 갑자기 아리스타 만큼 눈부신 황금빛으로 변했습니다.
그러더니 장미는 타오르는 듯이 선명한 나비로 모습을 바꾸었습니다.
마지막 변신이 끝나자
그 거대한 황금 나비는 대왕나비인 엑스티의 모습으로 변했습니다.
하지만 그에게 달려있는 날개의 규모는 다른 나비들의 그것과는 달랐습니다.
보통의 날개와는 달리,
그 날개는 실제로는 수 십억 마리의 아주 작은 나비들이었던 것입니다.
그렇습니다.
그 날개는 지금까지 지상에 존재했던 모든 나비들로 이루어진 것이었습니다.
그 거대한 나비는 아시스타의 찬란한 빛 속에서 타오르며 그 모습을 드러냈습니다.
빛나는 하얀색들, 눈부신 오렌지색들, 너무나 아름다운 노란색들,
그리고 타오르는 듯이 선명한 검은 색들이
온 세상을 압도하는 엄청난 광채를 내며 하늘에서 번쩍였습니다.

The Butterfly spoke,
그 나비가 말했습니다.

"I have always called you unto myself.
The hunger that you have felt
has been a hunger which called you out of yourselves.
It has been a longing for me, the True Light.
Now your hunger shall be satisfied, for you shall be with me forever."
"나는 항상 너희가 자기 자신을 향하도록 불러 왔노라.
그리고 너희가 느꼈던 그동안의 갈망은
너희가 작은 너희 자신을 벗어나기 위한 갈망이었노라.
또한 그것은 참다운 생명의 빛인 나를 향한 그리움이었노라.
이제 너희의 갈망은 온전히 충족되리니,
너희는 영원히 나와 함께 있게 될 것이기에..... "
