The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene

막달라 마리아의 복음서

Chapter 9
제9 장

When Mary had said this, she fell silent,

since it was to this point that the Savior had spoken with her.
When Mary had said this, she was silent,

since the Savior had spoken thus far with her.
이렇게 말한 후 마리아는 침묵에 잠겼고,

그리고 이렇게 침묵하는 것이

지금까지그녀가 주님과 대화를 나누어오던 방식이었다.

But Andrew answered and said to the brethren,

Say what you wish to say about what she has said.

I at least do not believe that the Savior said this.

For certainly these teachings are strange ideas.
But Andrew answered and said to the brethren,

'Say what you think concerning what she said.

For I do not believe that the Savior said this.

For certainly these teachings are of other ideas."
그러나 안드레아는 의문을 가지고 다른 형제들에게 이렇게 말했다.

"그녀가 말한 것에 대해 여러분들은 어떻게 생각하십니까?

저는 주님께서 이런 말씀을 하셨다는 것을 도저히 믿을 수 없습니다.

왜냐하면 이 가르침은

분명 우리가 알고있던 가르침들과는 전혀 다르기 때문입니다."

Peter answered and spoke concerning these same things.
Peter also opposed her in regard to these matters

and asked them about the Savior.
그러자 베드로 역시 그 내용들에 대해 이의를 제기하며

다른 사람들에게 이렇게 물었다.

He questioned them about the Savior:

Did He really speak privately with a woman and not openly to us?

Are we to turn about and all listen to her? Did He prefer her to us?
"Did he then speak secretly with a woman [cf. John 4:27],

in preference to us, and not openly?

Are we to turn back and all listen to her? Did he prefer her to us?"
주님께서 우리에게는 말하지 않으셨던 비밀을

우리보다 우선해서

여자에게 개인적으로 은밀하게 말씀하셨다는 것이 말이나 됩니까?

우리가 관습을 바꾸어 여자의 말을 들어야 합니까?

정녕 그 분께서 우리 모두를 두고 이 여자를 택하셨단 말입니까?"

Then Mary wept and said to Peter,

My brother Peter, what do you think?

Do you think that I have thought this up myself in my heart,

or that I am lying about the Savior?
Then Mary grieved and said to Peter,

"My brother Peter, what do you think?

Do you think that I thought this up myself in my heart

or that I am lying concerning the Savior?"
그러자 마리아가 눈물을 흘리면서 베드로에게 말하기를.

" 나의 형제인 베드로여, 당신은 지금 무슨 생각을 하고 있나요?

당신은 이 일이 제가 마음속으로 혼자 상상하여 꾸며낸 것이라고 생각하시나요?

아니면 제가 주님에 대해 거짓말을 하고 있다고 생각하나요?"

Levi answered and said to Peter,

Peter you have always been hot tempered.
Now I see you contending against the woman like the adversaries.
Levi answered and said to Peter,

"Peter, you are always irate.

Now I see that you are contending against the woman like the adversaries.
그러자 레위가 베드로에게 말하기를,

"베드로 당신은 평소에도 항상 성격이 불같더니,

내가보니 당신은 지금 우리의 적들이 하는 것처럼

여자를 거부하자고 말하고 있군요."

But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her?

Surely the Savior knows her very well.
But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you to reject her?

Surely the Savior knew her very well [cf. Luke 10:38- 42].
"만일 주님께서 그녀를 귀하게 만드셨다면,

누가 감히 그녀를 거부할 수 있다 말입니까?

분명히 주님께서는 그녀에 대해 아주 잘 알고 계셨습니다.

That is why He loved her more than us.

Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man,

and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel,

not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.
For this reason he loved her more than us [cf. John 11:5].

And we should rather be ashamed and put on the Perfect Man,

to form us [?] as he commanded us, and proclaim the gospel,

without publishing a further commandment or a further law

than the one which the Savior spoke."
이것이 그 분께서 우리보다 그녀를 더 사랑하셨던 까닭입니다.

그러므로 우리는 오히려 자기 자신을 더 부끄러워하며 온전한 한 사람이 되어,

주님께서 말씀하신 것 이외에 더 이상 그 어떠한 율법이나 계명도 꾸미지 말고,

그 분께서 우리에게 명하신 대로 흩어져 복음을 전해야만 합니다."

And when they heard this

they began to go forth to proclaim and to preach.
When Levi had said this,

they began to go out in order to proclaim him and preach him.
레위가 이렇게 말하는 것을 듣고,

그들은 주님을 널리 알리고 그 분의 말씀을 전하기 위해 나서기 시작했다.
