Little things that run and quail

And die in silence and despair;

Little things that fight and fail

And fall on earth and sea and air;

겁먹고 도망치는 힘없는 것들

침묵과 절망 속에서 죽어가는 가녀린 것들

싸워 패배한 힘없는 것들

대지와 바다와 허공에 떨어지는 가녀린 것들

All trapped and frightened little things,

The mouse, the coney, hear our prayer.

덫에 치어 놀란 눈으로 죽어가는 가녀린 것들

생쥐야, 토끼야 우리의 기도를 들으렴.

As we forgive those done to us,

The lamb, the linnet, and the hare,

Forgive us all our trespasses,

Little creatures everywhere.

어린 양들아, 참새야, 그리고 토끼야.

우리가 우리에게 죄지은 자들을 용서했듯이

우리네 모든 잘못을 용서해다오.
